Asked to develop how Moscow’s many museums exploit the potential of retail to commercially contribute to their future, we designed a merchandising system that can be replicated and adapted for each venue’s environment and brand.
First to test the system are the Museum of Moscow and the Museum of Cosmonautics. It is proving equally effective at selling model rockets beneath the soaring 1964 Monument to the Conquerors of Space and contemporary art prints in a historic former barracks.
Our advice was also sought on how to broaden and develop the product ranges and ways to use graphics that work with each museum’s branding. The roll out could potentially reach 65 locations, with the system designed to enable each store to uniquely reflect and relate to its museum.
